I'm back...
Last time I posted a blog was the time I was about to purchase a motorcycle. Unfortunately Kelly didn't let me and I was grounded from posting any new blogs for 6 months. lol just kidding (but it makes a good excuse).
My dreams have come true... Reagan and I are playing xbox!
As you probably know by now, Kelly and I are expecting another baby!! She is 13-14 weeks along now and is sick as a dog. This morning Reagan was fussing a bucket, waking up at 2:30 am, and fighting us. We think he has a cold and Kelly was puking in the bathroom like 5x. I'm trying to illustrate the struggles of the day. Pray for Kelly - she needs to feel better. We think that baby-on-board is a girl, because she is 2x as sick as she was with Reagan.
So Matthew... you must be busy - what else is going on? I am so glad you asked. We bought a house to flip / live in. It was a foreclosure that we got a great deal on. We got a construction loan that will turn into our mortgage - so we'll have no out of pocket expenses.
Check out the work we have to do:
We need to replace the windows
We had to replace the vent boots
We are going to replace the light fixtures outside
And paint the trim...
This is going to be a project... we have to install a french drain to hedge against water crossing over the foundation if there is a monsoon. This is more about insuring a dry bottom level than it is for fixing an issue. Oh... and we need to do some heavy landscaping.
When we closed on the house 2 weeks ago, the gutters (downspouts) were taken by the previous owner and standing water was next to the foundation... so 1st thing we tackled was fixing that.
This is the foyer. It is a split level home, so right at the foyer you can go upstairs or down.
We are going to replace the carpet and put in porcelain tile all throughout the house - including here in the foyer.
When the home was vacated by the previous owner, they took everything... I mean everything! They took the interior doors, fans, light fixtures, appliances, hardware...
This is the kitchen and the living room.
Now you see how much work needs to be done with the kitchen.
There was linoleum on the kitchen floor that we are going to replace with tile. The subfloor had water damage from a leaking door.
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs. (2 rooms, storage room and full bathroom downstairs)
This is the main bathroom. Its needing modern lighting, refinishing of the cabinets and tile flooring.
The room to the left is the new baby's room and the right room is Reagan's room. Both rooms have closets (duh)
Master bedroom with small master bath.
The master bath has some subfloor issues, nothing too extreme. This room will get an uplift. shower door, tile floor, a mirror, & new light fixtures.
I forgot to mention that the previous owners took the vent registers. ugh...
DOWNSTAIRS

This room is to the left of the staircase. This room was originally cranberry (as well as the other room with the fireplace). This room had carpet that we ripped up. This used to be two rooms and a hallway. The walls were removed and now the ceiling is jacked up (cosmetically). So we are putting 1/4" drywall over it and may put in recessed lighting.
This is the third full bathroom that will not be touched - besides replacing the lighting and gold fixtures.
This is the other room in the basement that will be my office - ahhhh.... this room was also cranberry red as well. The primer is on the walls now.

Here is the laundry room (which needs to be finished)
BELOW: Here are some of the deals and products I've found for the home
Craigslist - brand new for $250!!
This will go in the foyer
The small one will go into the downstairs and master bathroom. The larger one will go in the main bathroom.
I also would like a home for my lawn tools - or else it'll go in the laundry room.
SO>>>> The work begins.
